Inhaler Technique
It is vital that you get the most medicine out of your inhaler. Your technique can make the difference between good and bad asthma control.
Inhalers won't work if the medicine doesn't get into your lungs. For someone used to their inhalers, it may be second nature.
You may be surprised however to learn that studies show that roughly 50% of people were not using their MDI inhalers properly.1.
That's 1 in 2 not getting the most from their Inhaler!

Getting your inhaler to work for you has obvious potential benefits -

1. Better asthma control - less symptoms and asthma attacks
2. Lower doses of medicines and less prescription costs
3. Less wasted medicine and less inhalers - better for the environment
4. Saves time and money for the NHS which can be spent in other ways.

Your GP practice or Pharmacist would happily help you to check and improve your inhaler technique.
There are also some great videos to refresh and hone your technique. Here are some of the more common inhalers below, click one to learn more.
